Maintaining outdoor furniture: how to keep it looking good and comfortable for years to come

Borek stands for design, comfort and durability. Made for outdoor living and intensive enjoyment. Our products are designed with an eye for detail and manufactured from high-quality materials that can withstand various weather conditions. To enjoy your Borek outdoor furniture for many years to come, proper maintenance is essential. Here you will find clear guidelines and tips for cleaning, maintaining and protecting the various materials we use. This will keep your Borek product in top condition, season after season.

Teak | Reclaimed Teak

Teak

Borek only uses mature, carefully selected teak wood, all of which is harvested in accordance with our environmental policy. Teak wood comes from the Tectona Grandis tree. Thanks to its high oil content, this wood is exceptionally durable, stable and resistant to UV radiation, chlorine and sea water. Small cracks may appear in the furniture, but this is a natural process of wood. Untreated teak wood will eventually discolour to a greyish colour. The unique wood joints of some products may become wider due to weather influences. This is a natural process that can occur in this collection.

Reclaimed Teak

Reclaimed teak is (partly) handmade from old, recycled teak wood sourced from houses, bridges and boats in Java, for example. The wood has already lived a full life, giving it a unique character with cracks, splits, colour variations and traces of previous uses, such as nails, which can sometimes cause stains. This robust, oil-rich hardwood is particularly suitable for durable outdoor furniture. Each piece of furniture ages in its own way and develops a natural grey patina outdoors. Accepting imperfections is part of the charm and authenticity of reclaimed teak.

Maintenance advice

We recommend cleaning teak a few times a year with Borek Teak Cleaner, which cleans teak and makes it look clean and sturdy again. Borek Teak Protector saturates the teak, making it impervious to liquids and dirt. To preserve the natural golden brown colour of teak and restore the natural colour of greyed teak, use Borek Teak Sealer. Borek Teak Sealer is not recommended for reused teak.

Aluminium & Stainless Steel with Powder Coating

Fluidised powder coating applied to the aluminium or stainless steel structure by electrostatic spraying. To guarantee the strength and resistance of the powder coating, the entire structure is fired at a temperature of approximately 180° Celsius. The materials are manufactured to withstand harsh outdoor conditions, such as exposure to sunlight, UV radiation and extreme temperature fluctuations.
